My brother, my sister, please understand that only professing faith in Jesus is not enough. God requires repentance and obedience, resulting in sanctification.
Ask yourself these questions:
- Have you repented?
- Have you stopped all willful sin?
- Have you forgiven everybody?
- Have you been baptized in water?
- Have you received the Holy Spirit?
- Do you love and obey God?
- Do you love other believers?
- Do you live in holiness?
- Do you pray?
- Do you fast?
Many Christians are convinced that if they profess faith in Jesus, their salvation is guaranteed and that the way they live their life only determines their rewards in heaven. Many believe that because Jesus lived a holy life, they essentially don’t have to.
But that’s not what the Bible says. The Bible says many times that we will be judged according to our works. It never says we will be judged according to our faith. Faith without works is dead.
God is a righteous judge and has the same standard for everyone, not only for some.
The Bible is clear that the unrighteous won’t inherit the Kingdom of God. If you want to go to heaven, you must be righteous. You must stop all willful sin and get serious about sanctifying yourself, because without holiness no one will see God.
So don’t deceive yourself, thinking that God will turn a blind eye to your sin and disobedience. He won’t.
Jesus is coming soon. Are you ready to stand before Him?
