Interpretation of Tongues

[1 Peter 4:10] As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

[1 Corinthians 14:12] Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

Hoy les voy a compartir un testimonio sobre la interpretación de las lenguas de un hermano de acá, de Argentina, hace unos días.

Today I want to share a testimony with you about the interpretation of tongues from a brother here in Argentina just a few days ago.

Este hermano estaba orando en lenguas y lo veía en el espíritu alabando al Señor. En mi experiencia, cuando alguien ora en lenguas, la mayoría de las veces está alabando al Señor.

This brother was praying in tongues, and I saw him in the spirit praising the Lord. In my experience, when someone prays in tongues, most of the time they’re praising the Lord.

Pero además de eso, este hermano le pedía al Señor en el espíritu: «Señor, liberame de la confusión. Sacame los demonios que están alrededor mío y me hablan al oído, queriendo confundirme y diciéndome cosas para llevarme fuera de tu voluntad.»

But beyond that, this brother was also asking the Lord in the spirit: “Lord, deliver me from confusion. Remove the demons that are around me and speak into my ear, trying to confuse me and telling me things to lead me out of Your will.”

Aparentemente, él estaba pasando por una situación en la que no podía discernir bien si eso venía de parte de Dios o del diablo. Así que le pedía al Señor en el espíritu que le aclare la situación, porque no quería hacer nada fuera de la voluntad de Dios.

Apparently, he was going through a situation where he couldn’t clearly tell whether it was from God or from the devil. So he was asking the Lord in the spirit to clear things up for him, because he didn’t want to do anything outside of God’s will.

Lo interesante es que, cuando le di la interpretación de lenguas, él nos confirmó y nos dijo: «Sí, es cierto. He estado un poco confundido. No sé qué decisión tomar con respecto a tal o cual cosa.» Pero él no sabía que los demonios le estaban hablando constantemente al oído para aconsejarlo mal.

What was interesting is that when I gave him the interpretation of tongues, he confirmed it and told us, “Yes, it’s true. I’ve been a bit confused. I don’t know what decision to make about this or that.” But he didn’t realize that demons were constantly whispering in his ear to give him bad advice.

This situation really helped me understand what the Word says in this passage:

[Romans 8:26] Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Antes de recibir el don de interpretación de lenguas, yo oraba mucho tiempo en lenguas, sin entender lo que decía, y al terminar sentía que algo había cambiado en la atmósfera, que algo había mejorado, como que cosas se habían destrabado. Me sentía mejor: más liviana, más cerca de Dios, más en comunión con Él, más libre.

Before I received the gift of interpretation of tongues, I used to pray in tongues for a long time without understanding what I was saying, and when I finished I felt that something had changed in the atmosphere, that something had gotten better, as if things had been unlocked. I felt better: lighter, closer to God, more in communion with Him, freer.

No entendía por qué, pero la experiencia de interpretar lo que este hermano estaba orando en lenguas, pidiéndole al Señor exactamente lo que necesitaba, me ayudó a entender eso.

I didn’t understand why, but experiencing the interpretation of what this brother was praying in tongues, asking the Lord exactly for what he needed, helped me understand that.

Espero que este testimonio los edifique, porque la Biblia dice que los dones que tenemos no son solo para nosotros mismos, sino más que nada para la edificación de la iglesia.

I hope this testimony builds you up, because the Bible says the gifts we have are not just for ourselves, but above all for the edification of the church.

No se olviden de lo que dice la Biblia, y pidan el don de interpretación de lenguas.

Don’t forget what the Bible says, and ask for the gift of interpretation of tongues.

[1 Corinthians 14:13] Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

No se rindan, hermanos. Sigamos adelante y usemos los dones del Espíritu Santo para la edificación de todos.
