Each of us has to make a decision. By default we are separated from God. No one is born a Christian and no one slides into Christianity without realizing it. There has to be a conscious decision.

God is giving you an ultimatum. Repent or perish. Turn or burn. Jesus said:

[Luke 13:4-5] Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

There is no third option. There is no neutral position. You cannot sit on the fence. Jesus said:

[Luke 11:23] Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

The choice is yours. You can repent and believe, or you can go on with your life.

Doing nothing is also a choice: the choice to do nothing. But if you do that you will remain separated from God, and if you die in that state you will be forever lost, because God doesn’t allow unrepentant sinners in his presence.

Repenting and turning to God is the most important decision you have to make in this life, and the consequences are eternal.

Going to church, reading the Bible, even trying to be a better person, is not enough. There has to be remorseful repentance, a surrendering of your life to God and a desire to obey and please him in everything.

You must be born again.

If you are religious, let go of your dead religion, your self-righteousness, and your efforts to become acceptable to God through religious activities. Humble yourself and come to him like a child. Jesus said:

[Matthew 18:3] Unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Ask Jesus to be your shepherd. He knows you better than you know yourself. He is asking you to surrender your whole life to him, but you will find lasting peace and fulfilment. The creator of the universe will be your father. He will provide for you, protect you and defend you. And most important of all, he will give you eternal life.

Jesus is alive. He is now calling you to open your heart to him and receive him as your Lord and Savior.

[Revelation 3:20] I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

No matter what you’ve done and how much you’ve sinned, God will forgive you right now if you decide to repent and turn to him.

[Hebrews 3:7-8] Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.

Today is the day of salvation. Today is mercy time. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Every day many die suddenly and unexpectedly. God is calling you today to accept his reconciliation offer:

[Deuteronomy 30:19] I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.

If you are not walking with God, repent and turn from your selfish ways. Repent now and seek him with all your heart. If you give him your selfish heart, your lust and pride, if you give him your desires and ambitions, he will begin changing you into his image.

I plead with you earnestly not to persist in your stubbornness and unbelief. Come to your senses, stop everything your conscience tells you is wrong, and come to God in unconditional surrender.

God respects your free will and doesn’t force anyone. But if you refuse, you will bear the consequences.

[Proverbs 1:23-33] If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you. Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, would have none of my counsel and despised all my reproof, therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices. For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them; but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.

If you refuse to repent and continue in stubbornness and unbelief, if you refuse God’s mercy and continue to ignore him, his judgment will fall on you sooner or later, and you will see his other side, the side of justice.

The choice is yours, so choose wisely.
