Don’t wait passively for God to move in your life and set you on fire. It’s your responsibility to be active in your relationship with Him.

[Zechariah 1:3] Return to me, and I will return to you.

[James 4:8] Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.

Drawing near to God and diligently seeking Him is our responsibility.

[Jeremiah 29:13] You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

[Philippians 2:12] Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Under the Old Covenant, it was the priests’ responsibility to keep the fire on the altar burning.

[Leviticus 6:13] Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.

Likewise, it’s our responsibility under the New Covenant to keep the fire on the altar of our hearts burning.

We are called to keep burning with the fire of love for God, our Creator, our Maker, and the One who loves us.

Remember the greatest commandment:

[Deuteronomy 6:5] You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

So, don’t be passive. Don’t be lazy and lackadaisical, expecting God to do everything for you. Be active in your love for Him. Show Him your love, and let Him show you His love. Use the love He put in you.
