Would you be happy if your spouse admitted their infidelity to you but carried on with their affair? Of course not. But that’s exactly how so many Christians behave in their relationship with God.
[James 4:4] You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
Most Christians have the same values and chase the same things as the people in the world, all the while thinking that this is perfectly normal before God. They believe that God accepts them if they just believe in Jesus and admit they are sinners. But this is just another lie of modern-day Churchianity. The Bible says otherwise:
[2 Corinthians 6:17-18] Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will welcome you. And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty.
God’s acceptance is conditional. If you live like the world, God will certainly not accept you. If you love the world, you have no right to call yourself a child of God.
[1 John 2:15] Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Only those who are separated from the world and do the will of God will be with Him forever. Those who love the world or the things of the world will hear these words on the judgment day:
