How I Pray: The Lord’s Prayer as an Example

Padre nuestro, Abba Padre, Señor de señores, gracias porque desde el momento en que tu Espíritu Santo mora en mí, me has convertido en tu hija, en una hija más del Reino, Señor.

Our Father, Abba Father, Lord of lords, thank You because from the moment Your Holy Spirit came to dwell in me, You have made me Your daughter, another daughter of the Kingdom, Lord.

Abba Padre, Papá querido mío, acompáñame, Padre santo. Vengo ante tu trono para adorarte, Señor, para decirte cuán grande eres, Padre santo, porque solo Tú mereces ser llamado Padre. Nadie más en esta tierra merece ese título, Señor.

Abba Father, my dear Daddy, stay with me, Holy Father. I come before Your throne to worship You, Lord, to tell You how great You are, Holy Father, because You alone deserve to be called Father. No one else on this earth deserves that title, Lord.

Papá perfecto, Tú sanaste toda la figura de padre en mí, todas las falencias de mi padre terrenal, Señor. Tú las llenaste y las completaste, Señor. Tú levantaste la figura de padre para mi vida, el único Padre perfecto, el único Padre que verdaderamente me ama con amor puro, sin maldad, sin malicia, sin imperfecciones, Señor.

Perfect Daddy, You healed the entire father figure within me, all the shortcomings of my earthly father, Lord. You filled them and completed them, Lord. You restored the father figure in my life, the only perfect Father, the only Father who truly loves me with pure love, without evil, without malice, without imperfections, Lord.

Gracias, Papá, por tratarme como a una hija, por tratarme con tu amor paternal, por tenerme en tus brazos, Señor. Puedo sentir que puedo colocarme al lado tuyo y recibir tu amor, tu misericordia y tu piedad, Padre santo.

Thank You, Daddy, for treating me like a daughter, for loving me with Your fatherly love, for holding me in Your arms, Lord. I can feel that I can come to Your side and receive Your love, Your mercy, and Your compassion, Holy Father.

Gracias también por corregirme como un Padre perfecto, como el único Padre que sabe lo que me hace falta, lo que tengo que aprender, Señor.

Thank You also for correcting me like a perfect Father, like the only Father who knows what I need, what I have to learn, Lord.

Señor Dios, Tú eres el único Padre que está al lado mío continuamente, si yo permanezco en tus caminos. Soy tu hija, Señor, y te agradezco por eso.

Lord God, You are the only Father who is continually by my side if I remain in Your ways. I am Your daughter, Lord, and I thank You for that.

Gracias, Padre santo, que habitas en los cielos, en todos los cielos que existen: en el primer cielo, en el segundo y en el tercero. Thank You, Holy Father, You who dwell in the heavens, in all the heavens that exist: in the first heaven, in the second, and in the third. You are everywhere—above the earth, on the earth, and beneath the earth—and Your presence encompasses everything, because all the heavens belong to You and were created by Your perfect hand.

Lord, You are omniscient. You know what happens in all the heavens and You have a perfect plan. Thank You, Lord, for everything.

Venga tu Reino, Padre santo. Baje tu Reino a nosotros. Manifiéstate, Señor, porque la Palabra dice que el Reino está cerca y que el Reino está en nosotros.

May Your Kingdom come, Holy Father. May Your Kingdom come down to us. Manifest Yourself, Lord, because the Word says that the Kingdom is at hand and that the Kingdom is within us.

Señor, abre nuestros ojos espirituales para poder reconocer tu Reino y para poder sentirte, Señor. Derrama tu Espíritu Santo sobre nosotros para que tu Reino se haga manifiesto adentro nuestro, Señor.

Lord, open our spiritual eyes so we can recognize Your Kingdom and feel You, Lord. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on us so Your Kingdom is made manifest within us, Lord.

Construye fortalezas, Señor. Conquista nuestro templo. Conquista nuestro cuerpo, que es tu templo, el templo del Espíritu Santo. Venga tu Reino ahora en nosotros, Señor.

Build fortresses, Lord. Conquer our temple. Conquer our body, which is Your temple, the temple of the Holy Spirit. May Your Kingdom come now within us, Lord.

Tu Reino está en nosotros, Señor. No lo quites nunca. Venga tu Reino a esta tierra, Señor.

Your Kingdom is within us, Lord. Never take it away. May Your Kingdom come to this earth, Lord.

Hágase tu voluntad, porque solamente tu voluntad es perfecta, santa, pura y recta, Señor. Enséñanos a alinear nuestra voluntad con la Tuya, Padre santo, para no seguir los deseos de nuestro corazón, sino los Tuyos, Señor, para seguir tus caminos.

May Your will be done, because only Your will is perfect, holy, pure, and upright, Lord. Teach us to align our will with Yours, Holy Father, so we won’t follow the desires of our heart, but Yours, Lord, and so we’ll follow Your ways.

Padre santo, te pedimos que tu voluntad venga y se muestre en nosotros, Señor. Muéstranos tus pisadas, Jesús, para poder seguirte.

Holy Father, we ask You to let Your will come and be revealed in us, Lord. Show us Your footsteps, Jesus, so we can follow You.

Señor, no queremos ir por nuestros propios caminos. Queremos manifestar tu voluntad, Señor. Exaltado sea tu nombre.

Lord, we don’t want to go down our own paths. We want to manifest Your will, Lord. Exalted be Your name.

Así como tu voluntad se realiza en el cielo, haz que también se realice en la tierra, Señor. Como tu voluntad se hace en lo invisible, Señor, te pedimos que tu voluntad se manifieste en lo visible, Padre santo.

As Your will is done in heaven, let it also be done on earth, Lord. As Your will is done in the invisible, Lord, we ask that Your will be made manifest in the visible, Holy Father.

Gracias, Señor, por esto y por todo.

Thank You, Lord, for this and for everything.

Danos el pan nuestro de cada día, Señor. Dánoslo hoy. Padre santo, necesitamos ese pan. Estamos hambrientos de tu pan espiritual, Señor.

Give us this day our daily bread, Lord. Give it to us today. Holy Father, we need that bread. We are hungry for Your spiritual bread, Lord.

Jesús dijo: «Yo soy el pan de vida. Todo el que viene a Mí no tendrá hambre ni sed jamás», porque Jesús es la Palabra, el Logos. Necesitamos esa Palabra, ese pan, Señor.

Jesus said, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger or thirst,” because Jesus is the Word, the Logos. We need that Word, that bread, Lord.

Danos discernimiento, inteligencia y sabiduría para reconocer tu mensaje en las Escrituras, en nuestro pan de cada día, Señor, para entenderte y conocerte más, Padre santo.

Give us discernment, understanding, and wisdom to recognize Your message in the Scriptures, in our daily bread, Lord, so we can understand You and know You more, Holy Father.

Sabemos, Señor, que la Biblia tiene vida, que las palabras de la Biblia son nuestro pan, que cuando leemos las Escrituras estamos alimentándonos literalmente en el espíritu, y eso necesitamos cada día, Señor.

We know, Lord, that the Bible is alive, that the words of the Bible are our bread, that when we read the Scriptures we are literally feeding ourselves in the spirit, and that is what we need every day, Lord.

Aliméntanos como alimentas a los pájaros del cielo, Señor. Danos ese pan cotidiano todos los días. Haznos aprender algo nuevo de tu Reino, de Ti, de tu personalidad, de tu Hijo Jesús, del Espíritu Santo, de las cosas celestiales, Señor.

Feed us like You feed the birds of the air, Lord. Give us that daily bread every day. Teach us something new about Your Kingdom, about You, about Your personality, about Your Son Jesus, about the Holy Spirit, about heavenly things, Lord.

Te agradezco, Señor, por ese pan. Te agradezco por el maná, que es Jesús. Gracias, Señor, porque nunca nos abandonas, porque somos tus hijos y estamos en tu mano, y Tú nos alimentas cada día con tu pan celestial.

I thank You, Lord, for that bread. I thank You for the manna, which is Jesus. Thank You, Lord, because You never abandon us, because we are Your children and we are in Your hand, and You feed us every day with Your heavenly bread.

Te pedimos, Señor, que nunca nos dejes hambrientos, que alimentes nuestro espíritu, nuestra alma y nuestro cuerpo con pan de justicia, Señor. Gracias, Señor, por ese pan, nuevamente.

We ask You, Lord, never to leave us hungry, and to feed our spirit, our soul, and our body with the bread of righteousness, Lord. Thank You, Lord, for that bread, once again.

Siempre estaré agradecida, Señor, por abrirme los ojos y poder entender tu Palabra al fin. Una vez que pude saborear tu Espíritu, también pude saborear tus palabras, el sabor dulce de esas palabras que, cuando uno las lee, son como una espada de doble filo que te corta el alma y las entrañas y que llegan hasta lo profundo de nuestro vientre, pero a la vez sabemos que es necesario.

I will always be grateful, Lord, for opening my eyes and finally allowing me to understand Your Word. Once I was able to taste Your Spirit, I was also able to taste Your words, the sweet taste of those words that, when a person reads them, are like a double-edged sword that cuts the soul and the inward parts and reaches into the depths of our being, yet at the same time we know it’s necessary.

Es que esa espada está realizando una cirugía en nuestro corazón, Señor, una cirugía necesaria que corta, saca, cambia y destruye lo que no sirve y lo reemplaza por el verdadero pan de vida, Señor, para que Cristo pueda habitar en nuestros corazones.

That sword is performing surgery on our hearts, Lord, a necessary surgery that cuts, removes, changes, and destroys what is useless and replaces it with the true bread of life, Lord, so Christ can dwell in our hearts.

Danos eso hoy, mañana y siempre, Señor. No te olvides de nosotros, Padre. Aquí estamos, arrodillados ante tu trono, Señor.

Give us that today, tomorrow, and always, Lord. Do not forget us, Father. Here we are, kneeling before Your throne, Lord.

Perdona nuestras deudas, Señor. Te damos gracias por habernos perdonado cuando vinimos ante Ti con arrepentimiento verdadero de corazón.

Forgive our debts, Lord. We thank You for having forgiven us when we came before You with true heartfelt repentance.

Señor, te damos gracias porque, a través del sacrificio de tu Hijo unigénito Jesús, a quien entregaste como un cordero inocente en la cruz para que nuestros pecados puedan ser perdonados y lavados a través del arrepentimiento, Tú nos perdonas nuestras deudas, nuestras ofensas, nuestros pecados, nuestros errores, Padre santo.

Lord, we thank You because through the sacrifice of Your only begotten Son Jesus, whom You gave as an innocent lamb on the cross so our sins could be forgiven and washed away through repentance, You forgive our debts, our offenses, our sins, our mistakes, Holy Father.

No alcanzan las palabras para agradecerte por perdonar nuestras deudas, Señor.

Words are not enough to thank You for forgiving our debts, Lord.

Danos el mismo corazón perdonador que tenía Jesús cuando sus opresores estaban castigándolo en la cruz, y aun así Él pidió por ellos y dijo: «Padre, perdónalos, porque no saben lo que hacen».

Give us the same forgiving heart that Jesus had when His oppressors were punishing Him on the cross and He still prayed for them and said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

Danos el mismo corazón. Lo necesitamos para poder perdonar a nuestro prójimo y a nuestros enemigos, Señor.

Give us that same heart. We need it so we can forgive our neighbor and our enemies, Lord.

También sé que el perdón es una decisión, y decido ahora mismo perdonar a mis ofensores, a mis enemigos, a los que me persiguen, a los que me maldicen. Los bendigo, Señor, en el nombre de Jesús, en el nombre del Rey. Bendigo a los que me ofenden, a los que me atacan, a los que me hacen sufrir.

I also know that forgiveness is a decision, and I decide right now to forgive those who have offended me, those who are my enemies, those who persecute me, those who curse me. I bless them, Lord, in the name of Jesus, in the name of the King. I bless those who offend me, those who attack me, those who make me suffer.

Los perdono ahora mismo. Señor, quita las espinas de mi corazón que quedaron clavadas cuando me lastimaron, cuando me ofendieron. No me permitas victimizarme, Señor.

I forgive them right now. Lord, remove the thorns in my heart that are still lodged there from when I was hurt, from when I was offended. Do not allow me to make myself a victim, Lord.

Los perdono ahora mismo. Señor, ayúdame y sana mi corazón. Sana nuestros corazones.

I forgive them right now. Lord, help me and heal my heart. Heal our hearts.

Señor, venimos ante Ti para pedirte que nos levantes y que nos quites cualquier raíz de resentimiento, Padre santo. Gracias, Señor, porque todo es posible a través de Jesús.

Lord, we come before You to ask You to lift us up and remove any root of resentment from us, Holy Father. Thank You, Lord, because all things are possible through Jesus.

Señor, danos un corazón perfecto, un corazón cada vez más cercano y parecido al corazón de Jesús, que pueda perdonar setenta veces siete a nuestros enemigos, que tenga ligereza y rapidez para perdonar, Señor.

Lord, give us a perfect heart, a heart ever closer to and more like the heart of Jesus, one that can forgive our enemies seventy times seven, one that forgives readily and quickly, Lord.

No nos permitas caer en la ira, Señor. No nos permitas ser manejados por la ira y por el rencor. Libéranos de cualquier espíritu de resentimiento en nuestro corazón, que amarga nuestra alma y entristece al Espíritu Santo, porque también nosotros debemos perdonar a nuestros deudores para ser perdonados.

Do not allow us to fall into anger, Lord. Do not allow us to be ruled by anger and resentment. Deliver us from any spirit of resentment in our hearts, which embitters our soul and grieves the Holy Spirit, because we too must forgive our debtors to be forgiven.

Señor, ¿cómo puedo pedirte perdón si yo no he perdonado? Sería una hipócrita. Señor, te pido perdón por mis errores. Te doy gracias por perdonarme a través de la sangre derramada de Jesús, Señor.

Lord, how can I ask You for forgiveness if I haven’t forgiven? I would be a hypocrite. Lord, I ask You to forgive me for my mistakes. I thank You for forgiving me through the shed blood of Jesus, Lord.

Te entrego mi vida. Te entrego todo lo que soy. Forma nuestros corazones para que sean perfectos, para que sean rectos, llenos de justicia, llenos de amor y llenos de perdón, Señor.

I surrender my life to You. I surrender all that I am. Shape our hearts into perfect hearts, into upright hearts, full of righteousness, full of love, and full of forgiveness, Lord.

Porque no nos alcanza con cumplir tus mandamientos, leer tu Palabra, orar, ayunar y buscarte, sino que también debemos perdonar diariamente y mantener nuestro corazón limpio y puro de resentimiento y de odio, Señor.

Because it’s not enough for us to keep Your commandments, read Your Word, pray, fast, and seek You, but we must also forgive daily and keep our hearts clean and pure, free of resentment and hatred, Lord.

Señor, aleja de nuestra vida estas cosas que nos destruyen y que destruyen a los demás.

Lord, keep these things that destroy us and destroy others away from our life.

Señor, no nos metas en tentación. Te pido, Señor, que nos alejes del tentador. Y si Tú quieres que pasemos por pruebas para aumentar la medida de nuestra fe y para aumentar nuestra paciencia, Señor, también te lo agradecemos.

Lord, do not lead us into temptation. I ask You, Lord, to keep us away from the tempter. And if You want us to go through trials to increase the measure of our faith and to increase our patience, Lord, we also thank You for that.

Pero te pedimos también la fortaleza espiritual para resistir las tentaciones, para resistir al tentador, porque el espíritu es fuerte, pero la carne es débil, y hacemos lo que no queremos y decimos lo que no queremos, Señor.

But we also ask You for the spiritual strength to resist temptation, to resist the tempter, because the spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak, and we do what we don’t want to do and say what we don’t want to say, Lord.

Permítenos resistir las tentaciones del diablo, de la serpiente antigua, que día a día nos habla al oído y trabaja en nuestra mente y en nuestro corazón para sembrar semillas de iniquidad.

Allow us to resist the temptations of the devil, the ancient serpent, who day by day whispers in our ear and works on our mind and heart to sow seeds of iniquity.

Señor, quita la cizaña de entre el trigo en nuestro corazón y deja solamente lo puro. Por favor, líbranos de la tentación, Señor. No nos hagas caminar por caminos oscuros, tenebrosos y tentadores.

Lord, remove the tares from among the wheat in our heart and leave only what is pure. Please deliver us from temptation, Lord. Do not make us walk down dark, gloomy, tempting paths.

Señor, danos la fuerza para resistir la codicia de los ojos, la codicia del gusto, del tacto, del olfato, del oído, porque sabemos que estas son herramientas que usa el enemigo junto con nuestras emociones y con nuestros deseos de vanagloria.

Lord, give us the strength to resist the lust of the eyes, the lust of taste, of touch, of smell, and of hearing, because we know that these are tools the enemy uses along with our emotions and with our desires for vainglory.

Señor, danos la fuerza para mantener todas estas cosas aplastadas bajo nuestro pie, como una serpiente que uno tiene controlada por el pie. Enséñanos a aplastarle la cabeza a la serpiente antigua y a tenerla en dominio, Señor, como un perro que uno tiene atado.

Lord, give us the strength to keep all these things crushed under our foot, like a serpent pinned beneath one’s foot. Teach us to crush the head of the ancient serpent and keep it under control, Lord, like a dog kept on a leash.

Señor, gracias por tus pruebas, porque la prueba de la fe produce paciencia y aleja al tentador de nosotros. La prueba aleja al diablo, que anda como león rugiente, queriendo devorarnos y buscando cualquier puerta abierta.

Lord, thank You for Your trials, because the testing of faith produces patience and drives the tempter away from us. Trials drive away the devil, who prowls like a roaring lion, seeking to devour us, looking for any open door.

Señor, enséñanos a tener dominio sobre las cosas espirituales, en el nombre de Jesús, a mantener las puertas de la iniquidad y de la oscuridad cerradas y a mantener abiertas solamente las puertas del bien, las puertas del tercer cielo, para que se manifieste tu Reino y no el reino del mal.

Lord, teach us to have dominion over spiritual things, in Jesus’ name, to keep the doors of iniquity and darkness closed and to keep open only the doors of goodness, the doors of the third heaven, so Your Kingdom is manifested and not the kingdom of evil.

Sabemos también, Señor, que no nos permites ser tentados más allá de lo que podemos resistir, y te damos gracias por eso.

We also know, Lord, that You don’t allow us to be tempted beyond what we can endure, and we thank You for that.

Te doy gracias, Señor, porque solamente pones adelante mío una prueba que soy capaz de pasar, y nunca me pides más de lo que puedo hacer, aunque mi espíritu a veces desfallece y mi mente quiere engañarme y decirme que no soy capaz de pasar algunas pruebas, Señor.

I thank You, Lord, because You only set before me a test I am able to pass, and You never ask more of me than I can do, even though my spirit sometimes grows faint and my mind wants to deceive me and tell me that I am not able to pass some tests, Lord.

Te doy gracias, porque sí puedo. Todo lo puedo en Cristo, que me fortalece.

I thank You, because I can. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

Señor, te doy gracias por tus pruebas, pero te pido que nos alejes de la tentación, que nos des fuerza para resistir al maligno, para resistir los pensamientos adentro nuestro, Señor, porque nuestro primer enemigo está dentro de nosotros: nuestra mente carnal, nuestra carne y las concupiscencias de nuestro corazón que atraen al tentador.

Lord, I thank You for Your trials, but I ask You to keep us away from temptation, to give us strength to resist the evil one, to resist the thoughts inside us, Lord, because our first enemy is within us: our carnal mind, our flesh, and the lusts of our heart that attract the tempter.

Entonces, te pido, Señor, que limpies nuestro corazón de concupiscencias, que nos hagas ver, que traigas a nuestra conciencia ahora mismo cualquier iniquidad que esté en nuestro corazón y que no te agrada, Padre santo, para ser limpios y para que la tentación no tenga ningún poder en nosotros, para que no cedamos a la tentación.

So I ask You, Lord, to cleanse our heart of lusts, to make us see, to bring to our awareness right now any iniquity that is in our heart and doesn’t please You, Holy Father, so we can be clean and so temptation may have no power over us, so we won’t yield to temptation.

Sabemos que el diablo anda como un león rugiente, buscando a quién puede devorar, Señor. Nosotros no queremos ser su presa, Señor. Queremos resistir hasta el final toda la tentación de nuestra carne y de nuestra alma, Señor.

We know that the devil prowls like a roaring lion, looking for someone he can devour, Lord. We don’t want to be his prey, Lord. We want to resist to the end every temptation of our flesh and of our soul, Lord.

No nos permitas caer en la tentación, Padre santo. Líbranos, Señor, líbranos en nuestro corazón. Libra nuestro corazón del mal a través de Jesús, Señor, porque Jesús es el único Doctor de los corazones, el único que puede liberarnos.

Do not let us fall into temptation, Holy Father. Deliver us, Lord, deliver us in our hearts. Deliver our hearts from evil through Jesus, Lord, because Jesus is the only Physician of hearts, the only One who can set us free.

Trae liberación a nuestro corazón, Señor. Líbranos del mal que está en nuestro corazón, que habita en nuestra alma por los pecados cometidos por nuestros antepasados, Señor.

Bring deliverance to our heart, Lord. Deliver us from the evil that is in our heart, that dwells in our soul because of the sins committed by our ancestors, Lord.

Líbranos del mal de los espíritus oscuros que habitan en nuestra alma y que se fueron pasando de generación en generación, Señor. Líbranos del mal, Señor.

Deliver us from the evil of the dark spirits that dwell in our soul and have been passed down from generation to generation, Lord. Deliver us from evil, Lord.

Libra a nuestros hijos del mal también, Señor. Trae liberación a nuestras casas, Señor. Trae liberación a nuestra vida, Padre santo. Líbranos de la esclavitud del pecado, Señor.

Deliver our children from evil as well, Lord. Bring deliverance to our homes, Lord. Bring deliverance to our life, Holy Father. Deliver us from the bondage of sin, Lord.

Gracias, Jesús, porque a través del sacrificio que hiciste en la cruz, nosotros podemos ser libres, porque a través de la esclavitud que Tú tuviste que soportar en esa cruz, nosotros podemos saborear la libertad en el espíritu.

Thank You, Jesus, because through the sacrifice You made on the cross, we can be free, because through the bondage You had to endure on that cross, we can taste freedom in the spirit.

Gracias, Jesús, porque a través de tu sacrificio, nosotros podemos resistir la tentación, porque tu fuerza está en nosotros. No es nuestra propia fuerza, sino la Tuya.

Thank You, Jesus, because through Your sacrifice, we can resist temptation, because Your strength is in us. It is not our own strength, but Yours.

Gracias, Padre, por enviar a tu Hijo para salvarnos. Gracias, Señor, por todo, porque Tuyo es el Reino.

Thank You, Father, for sending Your Son to save us. Thank You, Lord, for everything, because Yours is the Kingdom.

Todo lo que existe es Tuyo, Creador de todo lo que existe debajo de la tierra y encima de la tierra, Creador de las cosas visibles y de las invisibles, Señor.

Everything that exists is Yours, Creator of all that exists beneath the earth and above the earth, Creator of things visible and invisible, Lord.

Tuyo es todo el Reino sempiterno, Señor, y Tuyos son el poder y la gloria por siempre. Señor, tu gloria es incomparable, y ninguno de nosotros podría acercarse tanto a Ti, porque tu gloria nos mataría en un segundo, Señor.

Yours is the whole everlasting Kingdom, Lord, and Yours are the power and the glory forever. Lord, Your glory is incomparable, and none of us could come that close to You, because Your glory would kill us in a second, Lord.

We thank You for looking upon us despite Your power, Lord, despite Your greatness, despite Your infinite power, which has no limits, which our human minds cannot even comprehend.

We thank You also for loving us, for regarding each one of us, Your children, as a priceless precious stone in Your eyes.

No puedo entender cómo, siendo un Dios tan poderoso, el único Dios que existe, con tanto poder y con tanta gloria y con tanta perfección, aun así me mires y me llames hija, y tu rostro mire hacia mí y quieras perfeccionarme, Señor.

I cannot understand how, though You are such a powerful God, the only God who exists, with so much power and so much glory and so much perfection, You still look at me and call me daughter, and turn Your face toward me, and want to perfect me, Lord.

No puedo entender cómo hayas entregado a tu Hijo por mí. Mi mente no lo puede entender, porque soy humana, Señor, y mi mente es limitada. Quisiera tener más entendimiento, Señor. Quisiera tener la misma misericordia de tu corazón. Quisiera tener una piedad tan grande como la Tuya, mi Dios.

I cannot understand how You gave Your Son for me. My mind cannot understand it, because I am human, Lord, and my mind is limited. I wish I had more understanding, Lord. I wish I had the same mercy that is in Your heart. I wish I had compassion as great as Yours, my God.

Teach us to delight in prayer, Holy Father. May You be praised forever, Lord, forever and ever.

Eres eterno, Señor, dueño de la vida eterna por siempre, donde no hay tiempo, porque Tú habitas donde no hay tiempo, Señor, donde solo existe la eternidad. Danos esa vida eterna, Jesús.

You are eternal, Lord, Master of eternal life forever, where there is no time, because You dwell where there is no time, Lord, where only eternity exists. Give us that eternal life, Jesus.

Gracias, Señor, porque en tu Palabra, en Mateo 6, hasta nos dejaste un modelo de cómo orar, de cómo hablarte, de cómo comunicarnos contigo, porque sin Ti no podríamos subsistir y nos quedaríamos huérfanos, como niños sin padre.

Thank You, Lord, because in Your Word, in Matthew 6, You even left us a model of how to pray, how to speak to You, how to communicate with You, because without You we couldn’t survive and would be left orphaned, like children without a father.

Gracias por dejarnos el Padre Nuestro, Señor. No nos permitas ser como los fariseos, Señor, diciendo vanas repeticiones una y otra vez, como si no habláramos con una persona.

Thank You for giving us the Lord’s Prayer, Lord. Do not let us be like the Pharisees, Lord, saying vain repetitions over and over, as if we were not speaking to a person.

Pero yo sé que Tú eres un Dios que tiene una personalidad completa, Señor, y que te agrada que oremos a Ti, que te hablemos y que te contemos nuestro estado, nuestras necesidades, Padre santo.

But I know that You are a God with a full personality, Lord, and that it pleases You when we pray to You, speak to You, and tell You our condition, our needs, Holy Father.

Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, te agradezco por todo. Inspíranos y guíanos a esa oración perfecta. Derrama tu Espíritu Santo sobre nosotros para que podamos orar perfectamente, Señor.

Our Father in heaven, I thank You for everything. Inspire us and guide us into that perfect prayer. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on us so we can pray perfectly, Lord.

Te agradezco por todo en el nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, quien se entregó por nosotros en la cruz siendo inocente, sin pecado; quien murió y resucitó al tercer día por el poder del Padre y ahora está sentado a la derecha de su trono, a quien le pusiste todos sus enemigos debajo de sus pies, como estrado de sus pies; a quien le entregaste todo el Reino, Señor, y quien volverá a venir a nosotros con ojos de llama de fuego, en poder y en gloria, con la corona de oro, con la corona perfecta de la justicia.

I thank You for everything in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who gave Himself for us on the cross though innocent, without sin, who died and rose again on the third day by the power of the Father and is now seated at the right hand of the Father’s throne, the One under whose feet You placed all His enemies as a footstool, the One to whom You gave the whole Kingdom, Lord, and who will come again to us with eyes like a flame of fire, in power and glory, with the golden crown, with the perfect crown of righteousness.
