Introduction
As you go about your daily life, please stop for a moment and ask yourself a few questions. What do you want from this life? What are you living for? What matters to you most? You go through life as if you were going to live forever, spending all your time and energy chasing wealth, career, fame, pleasure, comfort, security, and whatever else you think will satisfy you.
But deep in your heart you know this life is not everything there is. Yet you keep doing the same thing, day after day, never finding peace and fulfilment. I want to tell you plainly: you will never find fulfilment by chasing the things of this world, because that is not what God created you for.
Yes, there is a God who created you, and it is He who put in your heart that longing for something beyond this world. After your life here on earth is over, you will stand before Him and give an account for everything you have ever said and done, and that will determine your eternal destiny.
God wants you to be ready to stand before Him on that day. He wants to have a relationship with you and wants you to experience His fatherly love, but there has to be reconciliation first, because right now your relationship with Him is broken. The good news is that He has provided a way for us to be reconciled to Him.
This way is Jesus. Long story short, God sent His only Son into our world as the man Jesus to die for our sins. Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to God, was hated by the religious leaders of His day, and was put to death by them. But three days later God raised Him from the dead and made Him Lord of all, giving Him full authority over the entire visible and invisible universe.
Those who repent and believe in Jesus as Lord, that is, turn from sin and self-centeredness and accept Jesus’s authority and lordship over their lives, are adopted by God as His children and will spend eternity with Him. Those who reject Jesus and continue in sin and self-centeredness will spend eternity in torment and regret, forever separated from God.
I wrote this because I want to share the good news of God’s offer of reconciliation with as many people as possible. I am just a messenger relaying a message, nothing more. What you do with this message is between you and God. My hope is that you will not ignore it, but embrace it and allow it to change your life, because your eternal destiny depends on that.
Note that this is not an apologetics article. It does not attempt to prove that God exists or that the Bible is His inspired Word. That God exists is obvious when you look carefully at the world around you or into the depths of your own soul. If you don’t believe there is a God, you’re making a grave mistake. Please don’t persist in it. The fact that you don’t understand something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
May God open the eyes of your understanding.
